爱丽丝·马利恩·塔卢拉-凯特·沃克是美国小说家、短篇小说作家、诗人和社会活动家。1982 年，她成为第一位获得普利策小说奖的非裔美国女性，她因小说《紫色》而获奖。这本书成为畅销书，随后被改编成 1985 年由史蒂文·斯皮尔伯格执导的广受好评的电影，由奥普拉·温弗瑞和乌比·戈德堡主演，以及 2005 年的百老汇音乐剧，共计 910 场演出。在她的职业生涯中，沃克出版了 17 部小说和短篇小说集、12 部非小说类作品以及散文和诗歌集。
