Eugene Wolf人物介绍

Narrator • Actor • Musician • Storyteller

Eugene Wolf is a storyteller and musician from Greeneville, Tennessee, whose deep roots in Appalachian heritage infuse his performances with authenticity and soul. He studied music and theatre at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and honed his craft with Johnson City’s Road Company, It’s A Theater!, where he performed for 16 years before joining the Barter Theatre’s acting company in 1997.

For over 35 years, he has performed as half of the Brother Boys (with Ed Snodderly), blending storytelling and music in a tradition-rich style that reflects his upbringing in Greeneville. Their 2‑CD anthology On the Honky Tonk Highway With The Brother Boys was released by Germany’s Bear Family Records.

Raised in a family and region steeped in musical tradition, Wolf described his connection to A.P. Carter as coming from “the same dirt”—giving him a visceral, lived understanding of the landscape and cultural roots he portrays.

Throughout his career, Eugene Wolf has brought history to life on stage, in music, and on screen—anchoring The Music We Call Country with a voice shaped by genuine Appalachian experience and decades of performance.
