Dr. Kombong Darang is a state award winning tribal filmmaker from Arunachal Pradesh. He is currently serving as Research Officer (Documentation) at RIWATCH Centre for Mother Languages (RCML) Roing, Lower Dibang Valley, Arunachal Pradesh (India).He is a Gold Medallist in Master of Arts in Mass Communication specialised in Documentary Filmmaking and also Doctorate in Mass Communication.
He started his carrier in filmmaking when he was studying Mass Communication. He was selected as one among the first ‘Film Fellows’ for Dharamshala International Film Festival 2014 for the film ‘Walking with the City’. Since 2016, he is dedicatedly working on documenting the language and culture of indigenous communities of Arunachal Pradesh.
